Deja Foxx laat in deze toespraak bij TED 2025 zien dat het internet stuk is, maar vooral dat er een nieuw internet aan het groeien is. Netwerken van met name vrouwen die het anders willen en laten zien dat het anders kan.

In deze TED Talk laat Hamish McKenzie zien hoe de toekomst van de media eruit zou kunnen zien. De toekomst voorspellen blijft moeilijk, maar ik vond het inspirerend.
TED Talk: Heni Ozi Cukier, Are we heading toward World War III?
In de onderstaande video gaat Heni Ozi Cukier in op de vraag of we op een nieuwe wereldoorlog afstevenen. Hij laat zien dat er opvallende en beangstigende overeenkomsten zijn tussen de periode tot 1914 en tot 1939 en nu.
Chris Anderson, Infectious Generosity

Het gratis te verkrijgen boek Infectious Generosity van Chris Anderson van TED. Ik heb veel TED Talks gehoord en gezien en ook dit boek sprak me direct aan. Het is ook behoorlijk interessant. Het heeft wel wat weg van De meeste mensen deugen. Het gaat uit van hetzelfde positieve mensbeeld, maar dit boek gaat concreter in op het versterken en verspreiden van deze positiviteit. Anderson heeft wel veel worden en voorbeelden (uit TED Talks…) nodig om zijn punt te maken. Het boek had ook een essay of een pocketboekje kunnen zijn. Maar het boek leest wel prettig en werkt best aanstekelijk.

A tool for an inefficient system
Last week I saw the TED talk I posted underneath by Margaret Heffernan. In this talk, she tells about efficiency: our Western civilizations are constantly working on making things more efficient, using artificial intelligence, protocol and reducing laborers to cogs in the machinery of society.
But our future, Heffernan tells us, isn’t about efficiency, it is about resilience. And to be resilient, you have to be inefficient. And listening to this talk, I thought about both education and the BlockChange project.
Because this project is also about inefficiency. BlockChange derived from the idea that education is an inefficient, messy process. A combination of several relationships, methods, technologies and interactions, with a different path for every learner.
And because we can never create one system for all, one app above all apps, one way of working for every educational context, we need a system that is robust, resilient, inefficient but ready for the future. And that is what BlockChange.EU will be.
